Attention to choose the decoder that suits you, please read the description below!
ESU Loksound V5.0 NEM-660 (21MTC) sound decoder with ESU sounds for 230 P8 steam locomotive.
The functions have been reorganized and some have been added.
This decoder is suitable for locomotives equipped with an original board
The LokSound 5 is the largest member of the LokSound family. By combining the digital decoder and sound module on a printed circuit board, we achieve the smallest possible dimensions of 30 mm x 15.5 mm. Therefore, it fits into almost all H0 or 0 locomotives.
LokSound 5 decoders are available with all common interface types and are supplied with a sugar speaker (11mm x 15mm) and a soundproof enclosure.
Operating modes
Like all products in the LokSound family, the LokSound 5 is a true multi-protocol decoder. It supports DCC as well as Motorola®, Selectrix® and M4. Of course, it supports 14 to 128 speed steps, as well as 2 and 4 digit addresses in DCC format and up to 32 functions. Using RailComPlus®, decoders automatically register at appropriate control stations.
This decoder supports all DCC programming modes and, thanks to RailCom®, you can read CV values on the main station, provided you have a control station that supports RailCom®. There are utility registers for command stations that only facilitate programming CVs ranging from 1 to 255.
Motorola® users benefit from up to 28 speed steps for 255 addresses. Three additional Motorola® addresses make it easy to trigger 16 functions. An integrated programming mode even allows programming with the good old Central Unit 6021.
The M4 protocol supports automatic recording on mfx® compatible headunits.
The LokSound 5 decoder supports Märklin® brake sections as well as ZIMO® HLU brake controls or the Lenz® ABC system. Braking with DCC or DC brake generators is also possible. Additionally, the locomotive with LokSound stops when a Selectrix® brake diode is switched in the circuit. The ABC push-pull function allows automatic switching between two stations.
The LokSound 5 decoder is also suitable for analog DC and AC configurations (!).
Sound
The LokSound 5 decoder can reproduce up to 10 channels simultaneously. Each channel offers up to 16 bits / 31250 kHz. So we have finally achieved hi-fi sound quality on your network. For all practical purposes, no difference from the original can be detected. A Class D audio power amplifier with an output power of up to 3 W powers speakers with a permissible impedance of 4 to 32 Ohms. The enormous sound memory of 128 Mbps guarantees sufficient storage capacity.
The volume of each sound fragment can be adjusted separately. The extremely flexible sound engine, without a rigid flowchart, makes it easy to simulate every imaginable railway vehicle. Three separately adjustable braking functions and two alternative charging scenarios give you maximum control of your vehicles.
Functions
We understand that you want your locomotives to be as realistic as possible. Therefore, we have collected many function outputs. Depending on the type of interface, each LokSound 5 has at least 10 amplified outputs. Decoders with PluX22 or 21MTC interface have 4 additional outputs for controlling servos or as logic outputs. Of course, all important lighting functions are supported. The brightness of each output can be adjusted separately. The decoder supports automatic push and pull movements - known as coupler waltz - necessary for the reliable operation of digital couplers such as those from ROCO® and Krois® as well as Telex® couplers.
Motor control
The motor control of LokSound 5 has been further improved. A variable PWM pulse frequency ranging from 10 kHz to 50 kHz ensures completely quiet operation, especially for coreless motors. So the typical buzzing sound is a thing of the past. Load control can now be adjusted with up to 10 separate HPs and thus handle even the most difficult cases. The unique “Auto Tune” function makes it easy to automatically calibrate the decoder to perfectly match the engine. The LokSound 5 decoder provides up to 1.5 A of motor current, which is quite sufficient even for older motor types.
THE + DISTRIMODEL:
To guarantee you full satisfaction with your investment, Distrimodel offers you a free reload of the sound range in the event of incorrect handling during the installation or programming of your decoder. To err is human and a handling error is always possible...
